What's On - Follow The Phoenix Singers

Merry Madrigals to Mozart

Saturday 29th June  St John's Church Staplegrove

You are warmly invited to join The Phoenix Singers at their next concerts which will take place on Saturday 29th June in St John’s Church, Staplegrove at 7.30 pm and on Sunday 30th June in Hamdon Community Arts Project (formerly the URC) in Stoke-sub-Hamdon at 3.00 pm.

Both concerts entitled  ‘Madrigals to Mozart’ will be the same and will be directed by Martin Schellenberg.  The performances will have a predominantly bird-related theme and be ‘lighter’ in nature!  The programme will have a huge variety of music ranging from Bartlett & Gibbons to Stanford, Vaughan Williams, Elgar, Finzi and Chilcott.  Each performance will finish with the jolly and memorable ‘Spatzenmesse’ (Sparrow Mass) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The performances will also include a solo by Rose Donaldson (clarinet) following her success as the young performer who showed the most potential and musicality at the 2019 Young People’s Music Festival held in Hamdon Community Arts Project.

We look forward to seeing you!
