Following his time as a cathedral chorister at Peterborough and as a music student at Cambridge, Andrew Maddocks has spent all his working life in music education, first as a secondary teacher then more recently as an adviser and a free-lance consultant. Some of his time is spent working for The Voices Foundation, a London-based music charity supporting the development of singing nationwide in schools and the promotion of singing within local communities. In 1992 he co-authored 'Growing With Music', a music education programme for primary schools based on singing, a publication that is currently being radically revised and expanded. Andrew founded the Bridgwater Young People's Choir in 1983, for a while conducted the Taunton Children's Choir in the 1990s and became the conductor of The Phoenix Singers in 1996.

Andrew is always looking for good singers for the choir. If you would like to discuss it with him you can e-mail him at
